Boyband NU'EST announced that they would soon disband on March 14. This follows three NU'EST members who did not renew their contracts with PLEDIS Entertainment as the agency of NU'EST.
"JR, Aron, and Ren decided to start a new chapter after leaving the agency," PLEDIS Entertainment wrote in an official statement, as reported by MK Sports, Monday (2/28).
Meanwhile, two other NU'EST members, Baekho and Minhyun, decided to continue with the agency.
"We respect and support each member's decision because it is the result of careful and extensive consideration," the agency said.
The agency revealed NU'EST would mark the end of its activities as a boyband by releasing a new album. The plan, the album will be out this month.
PLEDIS Entertainment would like to thank LOΛ.E, as NU'EST fans are called, for their support so far. The agency also wishes the NU'EST members the best for their new journey.
"PLEDIS Entertainment wishes the members the best for their new steps and growth and will continue to cheer for a bright future ahead of them," the agency said.
NU'EST is a South Korean boy band that debuted on March 15, 2012. They marked their debut with the release of a single entitled Face.
This five-member boyband has two studio albums, Re: Birth (2014) and Bridge the World (2015). In addition, they have released five mini-albums and one compilation album.
During 10 years of work, NU'EST has released singles in South Korea. Some of them are Hello, Sleep Talking, and most recently, If You.
However, not only in South Korea. NU'EST has also released three singles in Japan, namely Shalala Ring, Na.Na.Na.Namida, and Bridge the World.
